I’m so excited to have got confirmation that I’ve got a designer maker pitch back at the Frome Independent Market. The first one of the year is Sunday 2nd March from 10am to 3pm. I’ve been making shirts, hi-neck tops and more recently, jackets, in preparation.
It’s always a bit of a squeeze to make enough for the market; I work part-time at the local school, near to where I live, in Somerset and my kids are still fairly young, so there’s lots to do. It’s been a bit of a blessing to have January and February without markets so I can build up my stock.
I’ve sourced some gorgeous fabrics. Some of which are vintage and some are deadstock. I was approached by a woman who used to own a fabric shop and had some over stocked fabric that she was looking to sell. It was mostly upholstery and curtain fabric including a gorgeous piece of William Morris, ‘Strawberry Thief’, which I’ve made into a shirt in a size medium.

I’ve also got this lovely jacket in a navy damask fabric. It’s a size medium and will be coming with me to the market if it’s still available, I’ve also done a lovely deadstock denim jacket, also in a size medium, which is perfect for the Spring.

I’ve got plenty of hi-neck tops coming too. Some are up on my website already, and I’ll save some for the market.
